The following is the way Richpen Airbrush Company recommends cleaning your airbrush . I have been using this method for years and it works great for both gravity feed and siphon feed airbrushes . Using a small bristle brush , paint brush and the proper solvent for the paint type you are using clean any paint residual from the color cup . Once this is done you should back flush the airbrush by filling the color cup with proper cleaning solution pull back on main lever (trigger ) while pushing down for full amont of air and cleaning solution with your finger covering the air cap / tip . As pictured below in #1 ( water or windex , airbrush cleaner for water based paint , solvent , reducer , paint thinner for solvent based paint like automotive paint ) #1
Clean leftover paint or residue on needle & nozzle tip with a bristle brush , small pint brush by removing the needle/nozzle cap . Useing the small brush with correct cleaning solution carefully clean the exposed area . Be careful not to bend the needle . # 2
